Cartio

A grocery list made for the aisle. Cartio organizes your shopping by category, tracks the running total as you go, and shares with family — all offline, no account needed.

Cartio

Overview

Cartio is a grocery list built for the store, not the screen. Items are organized by aisle category so the list matches the way you actually shop, and price and quantity tracking keeps a running total so there are no surprises at the checkout. The interface is designed for one-handed use while you walk the aisles, with drag-to-reorder and a closed-list archive you can reuse. Lists can be shared with family through the phone's native share sheet as plain text, with no sign-up required, and everything works 100% offline — your lists live on your device. Cartio also supports English and Portuguese and multiple currencies, and is free with an optional one-time Pro upgrade to remove ads.

Challenges

  • Making a grocery list that matches how people actually shop, aisle by aisle
  • Giving shoppers real-time budget awareness without slowing down item entry
  • Keeping everything fast and reliable while working completely offline
  • Letting families share a list without forcing anyone to create an account

Our solutions

  • Organized items by aisle category, with built-in and custom categories, so the list follows the store layout
  • Added price and quantity tracking with a live running total and one-handed, drag-to-reorder entry
  • Built it offline-first so lists live entirely on the device, with no network dependency
  • Enabled plain-text sharing through the native share sheet, with no account required

Results
